Things We Never Got Over )

Knox, a rugged and solitary barber with a beard to match, prefers the simplicity of his own company, akin to the way he takes his coffee. His sole companion is a loyal basset hound named Waylon. Knox’s life thrives on minimal drama, and he remains aloof, even when faced with the unexpected arrival of a runaway bride named Naomi.

However, Naomi's journey holds a deeper purpose than escaping her wedding. She embarks on a mission to rescue her estranged twin sister in Knockemout, Virginia, a town known for its rough edges, where disputes are resolved through time-honored methods – a combination of fists and beer, often in that order.

Unfortunately for Naomi, her twin turns out to be as troublesome as ever. She not only appropriates Naomi’s car and money but leaves behind an unexpected surprise – a niece Naomi didn't even know she had. Now stranded in the town without transportation, employment, or a clear plan, and with an 11-year-old with a mature attitude to look after, Naomi faces an uphill battle.

Knox, who usually avoids complications and high-maintenance individuals, particularly of the romantic variety, finds himself unable to turn his back on Naomi's chaotic situation. It's the least he can do to assist her through her predicament. But once Naomi stops getting into new trouble, he hopes to retreat to his peaceful and solitary existence.

However, the script takes a twist when the trouble escalates into a real and dangerous challenge that neither Knox nor Naomi had anticipated.

Author's Writing Style
This story is characterized by an engaging writing style that skillfully combines elements of romance, humor, and drama. The story expertly blends heartwarming moments with unforeseen twists, keeping readers engaged from start to finish.

My point of view as a poet
In Knockemout, where stories unfold,
Knox the barber with a heart of gold,
With his loyal hound, Waylon by his side,
They prefer the solitude, far and wide.

No room for drama in Knox's peaceful day,
Until Naomi, the runaway bride, found her way,
A journey to rescue her twin from strife,
In a town where they settle disputes with life.

But her evil twin, up to no good,
Took her car, her cash, as any villain would,
Left Naomi with a surprise, a niece untold,
In this quaint town where secrets unfold.

Knox, a man of quiet grace,
Offered help in this unexpected space,
In their quest to navigate this newfound danger,
A story of resilience, strength, and love's sweet wager.

With humor, drama, and hearts entwined,
In this charming town where characters shine,
The author weaves a tale, both vibrant and true,
A journey of laughter, tears, and love, anew.
